Gate Research2026-10-22 04:05:09Gate Research maps return drivers and allocation paths across U.S., Japan, Korea and Hong Kong equitiesGate Research has published a cross-market study comparing the return drivers, valuation frameworks and portfolio roles of U.S., Japanese, South Korean and Hong Kong equities. The report argues that the four markets are exposed to the same global shocks, but their earnings engines are not synchronized: U.S. stocks are tied to profit growth and technology investment, Japan to capital efficiency reform and rate normalization, Korea to the semiconductor cycle, and Hong Kong to Chinese corporate earnings, capital flows and risk premia. Using SPY, EWJ, EWY and EWH as representative U.S.-listed, dollar-denominated ETFs, the study reviews annualized returns, volatility, drawdowns and Sharpe ratios since 2016, then tests equal-weight, inverse-volatility and trend-rotation strategies. It concludes that cross-market diversification broadens sources of return, but does not automatically raise performance or remove drawdowns. The report also positions Gate TradFi as a unified interface for tracking and trading equities, indices, FX and precious metals, linking macro views with price confirmation, instrument selection and risk control.20
